William "Bill" Dynan

December 25, 1939 ~ September 20, 2018 (age 78)

William “Bill” Dynan, 78, of rural Underwood died Thursday, September 20, 2018.

William Patrick Dynan was born on December 25, 1939 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the son of John Gaylord and Lillian (Bakula) Dynan.  Bill grew up by Annandale on the family farm, graduated from the Annandale High School and just celebrated his 60th class reunion.

Bill and Linda Nelson were married on September 5, 1964 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Buffalo, Minnesota.  After their marriage they lived in Buffalo.   In 2004, they moved to Linda’s home area, building their house in rural Underwood.  Bill worked as a mechanic/welder for RDO of Burnsville.  His special interests included welding, antique car shows, Back to the 50’s Car Show, time with his family and especially his grandkids.  Bill was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Bryan (Karie) Dynan of Elk River, John Dynan of Buffalo and Sarah Stiebner of Eagan; grandchildren, Matthew (Carissa), Bill, Chris, Katie (Jack) and Nolan Dynan; great-granddaughter, Evelyn; sisters, Ruth (Tom) Gensman of Florida, Mary (Lenny) Hmel of Pennsylvania, Nora Swanson of Chaska and Peggy (Jim) Erpelding of Underwood; brothers-in-law, Randy (Peggy) Nelson, Nathan (Deb) Nelson and Bob Johnson; sisters-in-law, Renee Nelson and Cherryl Bonawitz (Dennis Pederson); and by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of special friends and relatives.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, Wade Dynan; brother, Tim Dynan; his parents; brother-in-law, Dave Swanson; sister-in-law, Bonnie Johnson; and two special nieces, Heidi Nelson and Anna Nelson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.

Memorial Mass:  11:00 AM, Friday, September 28, 2018, at St. James Catholic Church, 32009 County Hwy. 74, of rural Underwood, Mn.  56586

Visitation: one hour prior to services

Interment: St. James Catholic Cemetery
