Doris Lindgren, 88, of Battle Lake died Friday, January 4, 2019 at Battle Lake Good Samaritan.
Doris Ruth Lindgren was born on December 11, 1930 at the Leidel's Nursing and Home Care Center in Battle Lake to Ruth (Hensvik) and J. Philip Lindgren. She attended Elementary school in Battle Lake and her high school years were spent in Battle Lake, Pelican Rapids, and Underwood.
Upon graduation from Underwood High School, she worked at the Underwood creamery, but her formal educational training came as she followed her mother's path and received training as a telephone operator through Lillian Halverson and her own mother at the local telephone office. She served as a Chief Telephone Operator in Park Rapids, Buffalo, Little Falls, and Hibbing. In 1962 she transferred to St. Cloud as a Force Adjustment Supervisor for the St. Cloud District. Her final placement was a managerial position in the Duluth Office where she stayed until retirement in 1987 from AT&T.
Her retirement years have primarily been in Battle Lake where she spent time with her mother while assisting in her care and also volunteered at the First Lutheran Church where she was a member.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Bernice Eggert and brother-in-law Ben Eggert. She is survived by several cousins.
