Donald Overland, 62, of Detroit Lakes, died Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Don was born on November 16, 1956, in Lancaster, California, the son of Berton S. and Regina M. (Volk) Overland. At the age of 12, Don moved along with his family to Fergus Falls, where he received his education, graduating from Fergus Falls High School. Following graduation, Don worked with his father in highway construction and later for his brother, Junior as an apprentice plumber.
For a several years, Don lived in Idaho, where he drove truck for Amalgamated Sugar and most recently, has been a resident of Detroit Lakes, working for Wal Mart. From a young age, Don excelled at music and was a talented piano player. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially riding his motorcycle, boating, camping, and fishing.
Don is survived by his mother, Regina Overland of Fergus Falls; siblings, Bert Jr. (Sandy) Overland of Battle Lake, Judy (Dell) Waugh of Nampa, Idaho, Annette Seeba (Rob Hofmann) of Salisbury, Maryland, and Barbara Overland of Aledo, Texas; sister-in-law, Bernice Overland of Fergus Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Berton Overland; and brother, Tim Overland.
Memorial Service: 2 PM Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, with visitation one hour prior to services.

Interment: St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery
