Arvella Mae Peterson, 89, of Fergus Falls died Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan.
She was born March 19, 1930 in Fergus Falls, MN to Harold G. and Lillian (Burau) Ripley. She grew up in Elizabeth, MN where she attended school at District #37 and was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elizabeth. On January 23, 1947, she married Donald Hauge and they had three children: Steven, Roxanne and DeAnne. On February 27, 1970, she married Lee Edward Benson. He died April 23, 1987. On November 10, 1992, she married Johnnie Peterson.
Arvella worked at area grocery stores in Fergus Falls. In 1975, she moved to Madison, MN and worked for Stearns Manufacturing and the City of Madison. She returned to Fergus Falls in 1987 and worked at Rosenblatts, Lake Region Hospital and Hardees.
Arvella is survived by her children: Steven (Donna) Hauge, Roxanne Hammer and DeAnne (Jerry) Krog, all of Fergus Falls; five grandchildren: Trisha (Michael) Mortenson, Tara (Emily) Force, Benjamin (Caren) Hammer, Eric (Angie) Krog and Brian (Jessica) Krog; four great-grandchildren: Brandon, Andrew, Alissa and Ashlee; a sister-in-law, Shirley Ripley of Park Rapids and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lorraine Moran and her husband, Harold “Bim” Moran and one brother, Harold Ripley.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service.
Memorial service: Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
