Viola Ferber

Viola Ferber, 67 of Fergus Falls died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Lake Region Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Viola was born May 9, 1942 to Walter and Hildegardt (Heide) Bohn. She grew up on the family farm in Aurdal Township east of Fergus Falls and attended District 143 country school and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1960. Viola was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls and on June 18, 1966 she was married to Carlton Reuben Ferber. They resided in Fergus Falls where she was a legal secretary for Rufer Law Firm for 36 years. Viola’s true enjoyment in life was her children and grand-daughters and what she could do for them.

Upon retirement, Viola remained active in her church with Crafters and Bible Study. She enjoyed compiling family history, collecting recipe books, going to auctions and garage sales, making and donating cards to the Broen and Pioneer Nursing Homes, and attending car shows with her husband. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle ways.

Viola is survived by her husband Carlton; son Scott (Jane) Ferber of Foreston; daughter Michelle Minge of Fergus Falls; grand-daughters Katie Minge and Cecelia Ferber; sister Virginia (Roger) Rustad; sister-in-laws Angie (Donald) Haugen of St. Paul; Neota (Robert) Minks of Princeton; Janet (John) Brooberg of Fergus Falls; several nieces and nephews, family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Hildegardt Bohn and son-in-law Robert Minge.

The family prefers memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church .
