Tom Weiss, 53, of Erhard, died suddenly on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at his home.
Thomas Frederick Weiss was born July 17, 1958, in Pelican Rapids, the son of Harold and Inez (Swenson) Weiss. He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School, Fergus Falls Community College and NDSU.
On June 7, 1986, Tom married Cindy Heltemes at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena. They settled into their current home in May 1991. Tom worked as an accountant for Otter Tail Power Company in Fergus Falls.
Tom was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the unending enthusiasm he displayed with the Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs in Fergus Falls. The family has many fond memories of camping trips taken throughout the years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Cindy; his children, Brett and Nicole; parents, Harold and Inez Weiss; brother, Harold (Kim) Weiss, Jr.; and sister, Penny (Jim) Davis all of Erhard. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Tina Weiss and Oscar and Clara Swenson.
Visitation: Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls
