Rosa Jacobson

January 12, 1932 — July 25, 2013

Rosa Jacobson, 81, formerly of Pelican Lake, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Evansville Care Campus.
Rosa Marie Drewes was born January 12th, 1932, in Morris, MN to Claus and Katherine (Rathje) Drewes. She graduated from Alberta High School June 2nd, 1949.
On July 16th, 1949, Donald James Jacobson proposed marriage to her and on September 24th, 1950 they were married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Morris.
She and Don moved to Glenwood, MN in 1959. After Don was promoted, they moved to Ashby in 1962 and then Evansville in 1965. There she worked as a Teachers Aid from 1967 to 1979. She then accepted the position of School Secretary in 1980. She held that position until she retired in 1992.
She took great pride in the fact that she worked for 25 years without taking one sick day. Even the day she broke her arm, she went back to work after having it cast.
After Don retired in 1990, they purchased property and lived out on Big Island Road on Pelican Lake near Ashby. Rosa loved living out by the lake and cherished each day there.
Rosa was a member of Christina Lake Lutheran Church where she was on the ladies aid and served many a meal and washed many a dish. She thoroughly enjoyed her time of service there.
She enjoyed collecting salt & pepper shakers, kerosene hurricane lamps, fishing, shopping for antiques, baking breads, cakes and other assorted sweets.
