Rodney Moe

September 3, 1944 — August 28, 2016

Rodney Harwood Moe, 71, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at his home in Ashby, MN. He was born on September 3, 1944 in Berkeley, CA, the son of Harwood and Jeanette Moe.

At the conclusion of WWII, they moved to Ormsby, MN where he attended school in St. James, MN and graduated in 1962. After graduation, Rod joined the U.S. Navy and was active during the Vietnam War. After being discharged, he attended Mankato State College in Mankato, MN, graduating in 1971 with his Bachelor's degree in sociology.

In 1970, he was married to Kathleen Ann Hush and they had two daughters, Wendy and Darci. They were later divorced.

Rod moved to West Central Minnesota in the early 80's where he worked for Grant County Social Services in Elbow Lake, MN until he retired. He was recently employed at Wal-Mart in Alexandria, MN to keep busy.

In his spare time, Rod enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and "Happy hour" with his friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandsons.

Rod is survived by his two daughters, Wendy Kathleen Constantine (fiancé Scott Elsen) and Darci Lea (Kyle) Beachler, both of Evanston, Wyoming; sisters, Barb (Lenny) Geiger and Cheri (Lester) Sandbo, both of Ormsby, MN; brothers, Doug (Sharon) Moe of Stansbury Park, UT and Greg Moe of Clarksville, AK; grandsons, Carson Constantine and Gage Beachler; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harwood and Jeanette Moe.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 4 PM Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the Ashby American Legion.

Glende-Nison Funeral Home of Ashby is assisting the family with arrangements.
