Raymond Hinchcliff, age 78, of Fergus Falls, died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
Raymond Hinchcliff was born July 17, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in New York where he attended school and later worked as a nursing assistant.
Ray was inducted into the US Army on September 1, 1954 and served at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was honorably discharged on August 8, 1956 with the rank of Private First Class and was awarded the Good Conduct medal.
Ray was united in marriage to Elizabeth Barrett on January 19, 1957 at St. Ambrose Church in Brooklyn, NY. The couple made their home in Huntington Station, NY for 38 years. In 2001 they moved to Fergus Falls, MN. Elizabeth passed away March 27, 2005. Ray has been a resident of the Minnesota Veterans Home since 2008.
Ray especially enjoyed music and singing. His favorite was Christmas music.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Elizabeth; two sons Steven and Richard and six siblings.
