Pearl Wagstrom

November 15, 1923 — September 27, 2016

Pearl Wagstrom, 92, of Fergus Falls, formerly Underwood, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Broen Home.

She was born November 15, 1923 in Underwood, MN to Selvin and Caroline (Moen) Beckman. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Pearl grew up and received her schooling in Underwood, graduating from Underwood High School in 1942. She then attended the University of Minnesota for two years. Pearl worked as a clerk at the drug store in Underwood.

On November 11, 1946, Pearl was united in marriage to Arthur Wagstrom in rural Underwood. They lived in Dalton before moving to Underwood where they made their home. Pearl began tax preparation for friends and relatives and continued to do that and grow her business for 60 years. She prepared taxes for people in almost every state in the country over the years. Many of her clients were multi-generational. On April 16 of every year she would tell Art "Let's get in the car and go get lost!"

Pearl enjoyed going for drives with Art wherever the road would take them. She was an excellent seamstress and made many bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses, formal gowns and cheerleader outfits. She enjoyed flea markets, dining out and watching Looney Tunes Cartoons.

Pearl is survived by her daughter, Patricia "Pat" Wagstrom (Larry) Purcell of Underwood; three sons: Sheldon (Georgia) Wagstrom of Beckwourth, CA, Wayne (Delores) Wagstrom of Truckee, CA and Craig (Michelle) Wagstrom of Greenwood, CA; one grandson, Trystan Wagstrom and two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Carson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter, Caroline "Mitzi" Wagstrom.
