Paul Busko, 76 of Fergus Falls died Friday, January 20, 2017, at his home.
Paul Stephen Busko was born on February 7, 1940, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota the son of Steve and Anne (Schachtschneider) Busko. He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith, attended Country School in Aastad Township, and then graduated from the Fergus Falls High School in 1957. He enlisted with the US Navy, where he served as an Aviation Electronics Tech on the USS Intrepid and after four years was Honorably Discharged.
Paul and Carolyn Eggum were married and had two children, Rhonda and Paul Jr. and then married to Karen Freese and they had two children, Sheri and Kevin. He worked for Western Electric and then was employed for thirty-three years with Otter Tail Power Company, retiring as a Dispatcher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening, nature and the outdoors. Paul deer hunted this past fall and was able to spend time in his woods. He fed animals and liked watching the birds and deer. Paul was proud of the home he built and enjoyed the scenery around it. He was a member of the Fergus Falls Eagles. Paul's wishes were to be spread on his favorite hunting spots along with his dog, Sniffer.
He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Jensen of Fergus Falls and Sheri Deshitsya of Brooklyn Park; one son, Kevin Busko of Fergus Falls; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Alisha (Matt) Hendrickson, Wyatt, Haily, Riley, Dillylynn, Madison and Emmery of North Dakota, Trent Jensen and Gavin Busko both of Fergus Falls; special friend, Edythe Sumstad of Fergus Falls; sister, Judy Busko of Fargo; niece, Ann Schmidt of Fargo; nephew, David Schmidt of Moorhead; and by numerous relatives and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Anne Busko; son, Paul Busko Jr.; sister, Patricia Schmidt; and by his dog, Sniffer.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
Visitation: one hour prior.
