Pamela Liester, 65 of rural Battle Lake died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
Pamela Gayle Liester was born on October 22, 1946 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota the daughter of Martin and Elaine (Nelson) Eitreim. She attended school in Garretson, South Dakota graduating from Garretson High School in 1964. She continued her education at Northern State Teachers' College in Aberdeen receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in English.
Pam and Bill Liester were married on June 8, 1968 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Garretson. They lived in Granite Falls where Pam taught English at Granite Falls High School for 21 years. She then taught at Minnesota West Technical College, and after retirement worked as a special education paraprofessional in the Ashby School district. Pam and Bill retired to their Eagle Lake home in 2000. She belonged to the Battle Lake Homemakers Club, and was involved with book clubs in Battle Lake and Ashby. Pam enjoyed sporting events, fishing, baking, and gardening. She loved spending time with family and friends.
Pam is survived by her husband, Bill; two daughters, Susan (Chad) Kubat of Woodbury and Stephanie (DeMille Jackson) Liester of Las Vegas, NV; one son, Tom (Naomi) Liester of Stillwater; six grandchildren, Lauren, Kyle, Owen, Noah, Max and Christopher; one sister, Dianne (Jim) Burma of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers, David (Nelda) Eitreim of Garretson and Keith (Susan) Eitreim of Jasper, MN; and by numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Elaine Eitreim.
Funeral Service: 1 PM Friday, October 19, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Battle Lake
Visitation: 5-7 PM, Thursday at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Ashby and one hour prior to the service at the church.
