Orris G. Beck, 91, of Evansville, MN, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, MN.
Orris Glendon Beck was born August 30, 1922 in rural Evansville, son of Carl and Hanna (Bestad) Beck. He and his siblings spoke Norwegian and then learned English when they went to school. He graduated from country school in rural Evansville.
Orris married Mary Williams on November 2, 1953. They were married 60 years.
He farmed in Lund Township until his retirement where he remained on the farm until his death.
Orris was a very kind and caring man who loved his Lord and his family dearly. He enjoyed music and played the accordion, violin and guitar.
Orris is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Orris John Beck, Evansville; Glen Beck, Fergus Falls; two daughters, Wanda (Jim) Carr, Fergus Falls and Cathy (Scott) Anderson of Mound; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Frances (Melton) Beck of Alexandria, MN and Marcella (Clarence) Beck of Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Evelyn (Stillman) Bjerketvedt; and two brothers, Clarence and Melton Beck.
Funeral Service: Thursday, November 7, at 2:00 p.m., at Grue Lutheran Church, rural Battle Lake, MN.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Burial: Grue Cemetery, rural Battle Lake, MN
