Opal Blondeau

August 13, 1916 — January 30, 2011

Opal Blondeau, age 94, formerly of Elizabeth, died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Broen Memorial Home of Fergus Falls.





Opal Mary Blondeau was born August 13, 1916 in White Rock, South Dakota , the daughter of Albert and Edith (Watson) Hamann. She grew up at Tenney , MN and moved to Fergus Falls with her parents. Opal graduated from Fergus Falls High School and later worked at the Five and Dime.





In 1938, she married Charles “Buster” Blondeau in Fergus Falls at Our Lady of Victory. In 1946 the couple moved to Elizabeth , where they owned and operated “Buster’s Place for 30 years. After moving back to Fergus Falls to the home her Father built, she worked at the Broen Memorial Home as a supervisory cook.





Opal was a member of St Elizabeth’s Catholic Church Christian Mothers. She devoted her life and love to her family.





She is survived by three daughters, Colleen (Stephen) Waller of Alexandria, Debra Blondeau of Minneapolis and Rebecca (Lucien Mesilas) Blondeau of New Jersey; three sons, Charles Jr. (Deb) Blondeau, Steven (special friend Stacy Galasso) Blondeau, daughter-in-law, Jean Blondeau all of Fergus Falls and James (Bonnie) Blondeau of Ashby; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.





Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles “Buster” Blondeau, son, Tom Blondeau, brothers, Arlo and Reno Hamann.
