Norman Perrin

June 13, 1930 — October 31, 2016

Norman Perrin, 86 of rural Ashby died Monday, October 31, 2016, at the Evansville Care Center.

Norman Keith Perrin was born on June 13, 1930, in Lupton, Michigan the son of William Ivan and Trilla Marzetta (Grimes) Perrin. He was baptized in a Quaker Church in Lupton and graduated from Sturgis High School in Sturgis, Michigan in 1948.

Norman and Lois Eileen Warren were married on July 15, 1950, in the Methodist Church parsonage by Pastor Elliot in White Pigeon, Michigan. He farmed and had dairy cattle until 1960, when they bought their farm by Ashby and moved the family, machinery and cattle to Minnesota. He also worked for 3M in Alexandria, retiring after twenty-five years. Norman and Lois enjoyed traveling, camping and bluegrass music and made many longtime friends, many that spent their winters in Texas with Norman and Lois. Norman's last wish was to go camping one last time which they were able to do in May of 2016. He collected antique cars, trucks, and tractors and restored antique furniture and gas pumps. Norman was a member of the Calvary Covenant Church in Evansville. He entered the Evansville Care Center in January of 2016, where he received excellent care which was much appreciated by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; four children, Bill (Tina) Perrin of Ashby, Linda (Tom) Wagner of Alexandria, Steve Perrin of Ashby and Patsy (Jeff) Ostenson of Ashby; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Vonda Perrin of Pelican Rapids; and numerous relatives and friends. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, William and Trilla Perrin; grandson, Chad Wagner; brother, Jim Perrin and an infant sister, Norma Perrin.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Friday, November 4, 2016, at Calvary Covenant Church in Evansville.

Visitation: Thursday from 4 to 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM in Glende-Nilson funeral Home in Evansville and one hour prior at the church.

Clergy: Pastor Kendall Churchill

Interment: Pelican Lake Cemetery of Ashby
