Marie Wynsteker

Marie Wynsteker, 79 of Evansville died Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the Evansville Care Center.

Marie Ann Wynsteker was born on July 14, 1937, in Waconia, Minnesota the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Hartmann) Wagener. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waconia, graduated from Guardian Angels Catholic High School in 1955, and furthered her education for one year at St. Mary's College in Minneapolis.

Marie and Richard Wynsteker were married on May 25, 1957, in St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Minneapolis. After their marriage they lived in Minneapolis until their retirement in 1995, when they moved to their farm in Eagle Lake Township south of Battle Lake. She was employed with Northern States Power for ten years, Marie and Dick owned and operated Blue Ribbon Cleaners for ten years and then D & M Bus Co. hauling for Reuben Learning Center for ten years, both businesses out of Minneapolis. Marie enjoyed reading, baking and especially enjoyed time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; three sons, Robert of Waconia and James and Gary both of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Nicole Wynsteker of Willmar, Kara (Jacob) Melchert of Arlington and Rachel Wynsteker of Lester Prairie; one great-grandchild, Callie Koelln; five siblings, Arthur (Barbara) Wagener of St. Bonifacius, Irene (the late Frank) Staiger of Port Huron, Michigan, Morrie (the late Ginny) Wagener of Wayzata, Henry Wagener of Garrison and Florence Wagener of New York, NY; brother-in-law, Donald Jorgensen of Waukesha, WI; and by numerous relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Fr. Clarence Wagener, S.J., Dolores (the late Dean) Gaffaney and Elizabeth Jorgensen.

Memorial Mass: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank.

Visitation: one hour prior at the church

Clergy: Fr. Peter VanderWeyst

Interment: Eagle Lake Cemetery
