Lynwood Johnson

Lynwood Johnson, age 68, of Ashby, died Friday, December 24, 2010 at Midwest Home Health of Fergus Falls under the care of Lakeland Hospice.





Lynwood was born October 3, 1942 to Allie and Anna (Nord) Johnson in Wadena , MN . He was baptized in Nidaros Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Mission Covenant Church , Evansville . Lynwood attended and graduated from Evansville Public School in 1961.





He entered the US Navy in 1963 and served until 1967 as a diesel mechanic on a US Carrier during the Viet Nam Theater. Lynwood worked with Central States Road Construction from 1967-1971 mainly working on Interstate 94. He was a farmer and bought the home farm. Lynwood raised beef and hogs. He enjoyed hunting and trapping.





Lynwood was a kind hearted and loving husband. He and Virginia Bolstad were married on November 26, 1988 and together they enjoyed 22 years of a very good marriage. Lynwood will be greatly missed.





Lynwood is survived by his wife, Virginia; sisters, June Zicker of Pelican Rapids, Donna Monk of Glenco, Carlyn (Roger) Vack of Hutchinson; brothers, Dennis of Dalton, Ralph (Bonnie) of Evansville, Jerry (Carolyn) of Evansville, Glen (Darla) of Ashby; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Spencer and Arvid; and one sister, Mavis Martin.
