Lyle Schleske

Lyle Schleske, 84, of Erhard died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Frazee Care Center.

Lyle Duane Schleske was born February 24, 1929 by Erhard, Minnesota to Alfred and Jennie (Norgren) Schleske. He was baptized and confirmed in the Grace Lutheran Church and attended Country School by Erhard. After his schooling he moved to Scobey, Montana where he worked two years on a ranch. He then went to Texas where he did custom combining.

On July 11, 1955 Lyle and Elizabeth Sorenson were married in Minneapolis. They lived in Minneapolis and Moorhead until 1958 when they moved to Tucson, Arizona where he was a Service Manager for Ted Walker Trailer Sales. In 1970, they moved to their home by rural Erhard where Lyle farmed, was employed with Evenson Trucking in Pelican Rapids and then operated Lyle's Welding and Repair. He was a welder for over forty years. Lyle and Bette enjoyed traveling, country western music and in his retirement he liked tinkering in his shop. He was a lifetime member of the Grace Lutheran Church and was a member of the NRA. Lyle enjoyed his friends and especially his family. In September of 2012, Lyle entered the Frazee Care Center where he enjoyed their good care.

He is survived by daughters, Cindy (Ken) Lyden of Pelican Rapids, Nancy (Alan) Jerger of Rothsay and Lorri (Brad) Schmitt of Larimore, ND and six grandchildren, Jamie (Cole) Nordick, Cody Lyden, Lisa Jerger, Casey Lyden, Nicole McAllister and Andrew Schmitt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette on January 6, 2012 and by his parents, Alfred and Jennie Schleske.

Service: 11 am Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard

Visitation: Monday from 5 pm to 7 pm with a 6:30 pm Prayer Service at the Grace Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Burial: Bagstevold Cemetery, Erhard
