Luella Stewart, 85, of Battle Lake died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at her residence under the care of her family and Lakeland Hospice.
Luella (Sneva) Stewart was born July 25, 1927 to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Barry) Sneva. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. James Catholic Church in Maine Township. She attended grade school in District 146 rural Underwood and graduated from Underwood High School in 1945. Luella Sneva and Warren Stewart were married May 8, 1947.
Luella was an avid reader, loved socializing with family and friends, playing ball with the grandchildren, cards and scrabble.
Luella is survived by 9 children: Barry (Lynda) Ottertail, Larry (Lavonne) Richville, Steve (Deb) Wisconsin, James (Judy) Richville, Mary of Minneapolis, Cindy (Jeff) Battle Lake, John of Fargo, Cathy (Todd) Underwood, Teresa (Brian) Champlin; 25 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; one brother, Paul Sneva of rural Underwood; numerous relatives and friends.
Luella is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Thomas and brother, Robert.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 27 at St. James Catholic Church in Maine
Visitation: 5- 7 PM on Friday with a prayer service at 7:00 at the St. James Catholic Church in Maine and will resume for one hour prior to the service at the church
