Lorraine Pederson, 95, formerly of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at McIntosh Senior Living, McIntosh, MN.
Lorraine was born March 5, 1918, in Fergus Falls, one of four children born to Oscar and Johanna (Engebretson) Holden. She was baptized and confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church and attended Aurdal School District #247.
On August 24, 1945, Lorraine married Clifford G. Pederson at Vang Lutheran Church and they were blessed with three children.
In the early years, Lorraine worked at the Pioneer Home in Fergus Falls, but for most of her working years was a homemaker on the Pederson family dairy farm. Upon Clifford's return from the service, the couple built a new home on the family farm in Sverdrup Township. Cliff and Lorraine were members of Tingvold Lutheran Church, where Lorraine was active with the ladies aid, taught Sunday school, and sang with a women's trio.
In her spare time, Lorraine enjoyed hand work, crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening. She was a member of the Barnhard PTA, 4H, and most recently was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in rural Underwood. Lorraine loved to play the piano and kept an extensive journal, dating back to the early 1970's.
Lorraine is survived by her children: Jim (Susan) of Newfolden, Minnesota, Darrell (Kathy) of Underwood, and Gale (Becky) of Fergus Falls; eight grandchildren: Tricia (Joshua) Flohr, Barry (Becky) Pederson, Troy Pederson, Miranda Pederson, Shane Coleman, Jessica Pederson, Katie (Chris) Nelson and Gideon Pederson; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Chester (Connie) Holden of Fergus Falls; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford on March 10, 1979, two children in infancy: Claire Ann and Carol Lynn; and siblings: Obert Holden and Margaret Clambey.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Underwood, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
