Leonard Schott, 90 of Fergus Falls died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Lake Region Hospital.
Leonard William Schott was born on July 16, 1924 to Edward and Zella (Wheeler) Schott in rural Doran. He attended country schools in rural Doran and Everdell.
Leonard served with the U.S. Army as a mechanic during WWII. Following his return, he purchased the farm located next to his family's farm in Bradford Township, Wilkin County, where he remained for over 60 years.
On October 14, 1950, Leonard married Gladyce Jeanette Holo in Dalton. They worked together on the farm and raised three children, Gary, Janelle, and Lynae. He also worked for Howard Moore Trucking, as well as on road construction projects with Hodgman's Construction. He also served on the Bradford Township Board, and was a member of the Foxhome United Methodist Church. Leonard was very good at fixing everything, and he often repaired vehicles for friends and neighbors over the years.
In 2005, Leonard and Gladyce retired and moved to Fergus Falls. Gladyce preceded him in death on January 14, 2010. Leonard spent his remaining years enjoying gardening, reading, building his coin collection, and spending time with his cousins, as they did when they were young.
