Kal Wheeler

December 6, 1960 — December 15, 2016

Kal Wheeler, 56, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

Kal Scott Wheeler was born on December 6, 1960 in Breckenridge, MN, the son of Merle and Diann (Lysne) Wheeler. He attended school Tintah and graduated from Fergus Falls High School.

In 1981, Kal married Cathy Hanson at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Battle Lake, and they were blessed with a daughter, Nichole. They later divorced.

Kal held several jobs over the years, which include managing a resort, working in manufacturing and construction. He went on to attend Detroit Lakes Technical College and took training in marine engines. Kal absolutely loved music and had a large CD collection. A shop-a-holic, he could often be found looking for new treasures in area thrift stores. He was also a self-taught mechanic who could fix almost anything. Most important to Kal was his daughter and granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Kristy Wheeler; a brother, Kent Wheeler; and a niece, Mckenzie Wheeler.
