Helen Jensen

Helen Jensen, 95, of Fergus Falls died Friday, January 2, 2015 at the PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls.

Helen Evangeline Jensen was born on April 9, 1919 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Lauritz and Hilda (Nelson) Berge. She was baptized and confirmed in the Swan Lake Lutheran Church of rural Fergus Falls. Helen graduated from Fergus Falls High School with the class of 1938.

Helen and Helmer Jensen were married on April 30, 1939 in the Swan Lake Lutheran parsonage in Dalton. She was a lifetime resident of Dane Prairie Township where she and Helmer farmed. In 1980, they moved into Fergus Falls. They were members of the Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church of rural Underwood and in 1982, joined the Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Helmer passed away on December 11, 2002. Helen enjoyed her animals, the outdoors and liked flowers and gardening.

She was the last of seven children, preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Frances and Lorine; four brothers, Raymond and Kenneth; and by two brothers in infancy.

Helen is survived by three nieces, June Abrahamson and Jean Lund, both of Minnetonka, and Kay (Dick) Ebert of Apopka, Florida; three nephews, Richard (Jan) Berge of Fergus Falls, Ronald (Lorraine) Miller and Jerry (Deb) Miller, both of Minneapolis.

Memorial Service: 11:00 am Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the PioneerCare Celebration Center in Fergus Falls

Visitation: one hour prior to the service
