Frank Salo

Frank Salo, 85 formerly of the Cromwell area died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Henning.

Frank Howard Salo was born on January 18, 1930 in Duluth, Minnesota the son of Fred and Hilma Salo. He attended the Cromwell Public School. Frank served in the US Army during the Korean War, serving in Germany as a truck driver. After his discharge he moved to Toledo, Ohio where he attended school to become a Meat Processor.

Frank moved back to Cromwell where he farmed along with operating a meat cutting business on the farm. Frank was known as the Cromwell Meat King and later worked with General C.C. Andrews Tree Farm by Willow River. He sold his farm by Cromwell then purchased a home in Kerrick. He enjoyed auction sales, threshing and antique tractor shows, karoke, had traveled to Finland three times and especially liked wintering in Texas. In September of 2013, he moved in with his cousin Kathleen and Daryl Baardsen by Vining, where he lived until entering the Golden Living Center in Henning in June of 2014.

He is survived by numerous cousins and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hilma Salo and by one brother, Mauno Salo.

Interment: Private Family burial at Minnesota Veterans Cemetery by Little Falls, Minnesota with full military honors.
