Ervin Pinkowski, 80, of Evansville, died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Evansville Care Campus.
He was born August 1, 1934 in Evansville to Edwin Wangerin and Anna Schmidt. As a child, he attended parochial school in Millerville and resided in the Millerville community. Ervin spent his life working on various farms. He resided in a small farm house that had no electricity or water. In addition to farming, Ervin was hired by Archer-Daniels to load large stacks of flax straw bales onto boxcars. He got to know and became friends with many of the area farmers through his work. Ervin was also widely known for his specialty of building fences. To this day, there are many people who say that Ervin was the best fencer around. He enjoyed attending auctions with Owen Jacobson. In 2010, he moved into the Evansville Care Campus where he remained until his death. Ervin is survived by several cousins and many friends at the Evansville Care Campus. He will be missed.
