Darlene Schuman, 56 of Evansville died at her home in Evansville on Monday, December 15, 2014.

Darlene Mae Schuman was born on May 18, 1958 in Alexandria, Minnesota the daughter of Raymond and Jean (Olson) Hanson. She grew up on the Hanson Family farm by Evansville, Minnesota where she was baptized and confirmed in the Erdahl Lutheran Church. Darlene attended the Evansville Public School graduating from the Evansville High School in 1976.

Darlene and David Schuman were married on July 28, 1979 at the Hanson Family Farm by Evansville. After their marriage they lived in Evansville where she worked hard in various jobs, she was employed with the Evansville Café, Evansville Bank, Evansville Record, Come for Coffee and the Evansville Meat Market. Darlene and David owned and operated the Milk Room in Evansville. She loved animals and had several pets growing up, one of which included a raccoon. If any animal needed a home, Darlene would take it in. Darlene and David had several dogs and cats. She was a gardener raising various vegetables and plants at the family farm where she enjoyed spending her days. Darlene loved her 6 grandchildren, several "grandbabies" as she would call them, she was an amazing Nana. She also was a big collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia and an avid NASCAR fan.

She is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, David; two children and families, daughter, Jenny (Willy) Westrom, Kyra and Lora of Evansville; son, Joey (Erin) Schuman, Abygehl, Elijah, Quintynn and Olivea of Fergus Falls; sister, Marilyn Kelly of Garfield; brother, Harold (Doreen) Hanson of Evansville; and by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Jean Hanson; three brothers-in-law, Mark Kelly, John Schuman and Curt Carlson; and by one nephew, Zach Schuman.

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm, Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Evansville

Visitation: Thursday from 4 to 7 pm with a Prayer
Service at 6:30 pm at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home

Clergy: Rev. Tim Baglien

Interment: Mound Grove Cemetery in Evansville
