Dan Antrim

June 27, 1968 — April 1, 2016

Dan Antrim, 47, of Lisbon, ND and Fergus Falls, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 1, 2016, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.

Daniel Thomas Antrim was born on June 27, 1968 in Morris, MN, the son of Thomas and Anita (Wagner) Antrim. He grew up on the family farm six miles west of Norcross and attended school in Wheaton, graduating from Wheaton High School in 1986. Dan received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology from Moorhead State University, graduating in 1991.

On August 10, 1991, Dan married Rhonda Braaten at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton, and they were blessed with two children, Rachel and Jacob.

Beginning with an internship at Bobcat in Bismarck during his college years, Dan went on to work for Bobcat for twenty-five years. In 1991, Dan began working as an industrial engineer at the Gwinner Plant, and eventually became plant manager from 2005 - 2008. Dan took on the role of Vice President before turning forty, and has been an integral part of the executive team for many years. Dan obtained his Master's in Business Administration from Indiana University - Kelly School of Business. Dan served as the chair of the North Dakota Professional Engineering Association.

Dan's time spent growing up on the farm prepared him for his career as an engineer. He could fix or build just about anything and as a result, several of his designs were patented through Bobcat. Dan earned his "black belt" in Six Sigma, and was the first Lean Promotions officer for Bobcat. His ingenuity helped raise Bobcat to the world-class company that it is today.

Dan loved to hunt and fish and mentored his son, nephew and any other kids that shared his passion for the outdoors. Dan fished in many Master Walleye Circuit tournaments with his friends, but also enjoyed fishing in Bobcat fishing tournaments and couples fishing tournaments with his family. He enjoyed big game hunting and has a collection of many big game "trophies" from his hunting trips.

Dan greatly enjoyed traveling – from time spent in Florida, to country music festivals, and cruises, especially enjoying trips with family and friends. He will be remembered for his love of animals, especially his hunting dogs; time spent on Wall Lake with his family and his friends; his exceptional cooking; and above all, his humility.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Rhonda, of Fergus Falls and Lisbon; children, Rachel of Fargo and Jake of Fergus Falls; two sisters, Judy (Tony) Fennell of Fargo and Michele (Tim Zwickey) Larson of Moose Lake, MN; mother and father-in-law, Jerry and Barb Braaten of Wheaton; brother-in-law, John (Tanya) Braaten in Wheaton; and sister-in-law, Nicolle (Daryn) Toso of Fergus Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Kruger; two unborn children; and several close friends.
