Clarice Frykman

Clarice Frykman, age 85, of Evansville , died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Evansville Care Center .





Clarice Marjorie Kolkind was born November 17, 1925 to Andrew and Adeline (Johnson) Kolkind near Evansville . She was baptized December 11, 1925 and confirmed May 19, 1940 at Immanuel Lutheran Church , Evansville .





Clarice married Alvin Frykman on October 21, 1945 at Immanuel Lutheran Church . Together they raised their family and farmed near Barrett. She worked at Runestone Telephone in Hoffman for 18 years where she became the office manager. In the early 1990’s the couple moved into Evansville . Alvin passed away May 22, 2000. Clarice lived at Rolling Hills assisted living in Barrett from 2006 until February 2010 when she became a resident of Evansville Care Center .





Clarice was a lifetime member of Immanuel/Faith Lutheran Church. She was active in Ladies Aid and served as a Sunday school teacher. Clarice was also a 4-H leader. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and traveling. Clarice especially enjoyed the couple’s 40 th anniversary trip to Norway and Sweden .





She is survived by her children, Mary (Reece) Lund of Evansville, Vivian (Richard) Spicer of Birmingham, MI, Dwayne (Connie) Frykman of Uvave, TX, Joyce (Mark) Hjelle of Fergus Falls, Allen (Michelle) Frykman of Elbow Lake; 12 grandchildren, Wendy Lund/Feltman, Kerby Lund, Richard Spicer Jr, Sean Spicer, Timothy Spicer, Kevin Spicer, Megan Spicer, Erik Hjelle, Kara Hjelle, Ross Hjelle, Andrea Frykman, Emily Frykman; 6 great grandchildren, Kannen, Kennedy, Kerryn and Kiley Lund, Noah and Quinton Spicer; sister, Agnes Person of Elbow Lake; sister-in-law, Eleanor Kolkind of Isanti; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.





Clarice was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her parents; brother, Alvin Kolkind; and brother-in-law, Paul Person.
