Charlotte Dalum, 89 of Battle Lake formerly of Hoffman died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.
Charlotte Dalum was born on March 1, 1924 in Carson, North Dakota the daughter of Kristian and Stella (Nelson) Rossum. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and graduated from the Evansville High School in 1942.
Charlotte and Reuben Dalum were married on October 4, 1944. After their marriage they lived in the Kensington-Hoffman area. She was employed for several years with the Bohn Drug in Hoffman and then co-owned Von Ettes Drug Store in Hoffman, before starting with the Hoffman Good Samaritan Center as a nurses aid where she was employed until her retirement. Charlotte was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Hoffman. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, flowers, embroidering and was an avid reader. She enjoyed the Hoffman Senior Citizens where she liked playing bingo. Charlotte entered the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center in August of 2012 where she became part of the Good Sam Family. She was a very kind and giving person and enjoyed her family.
She is survived by three children, Sheila (Roy) Graham of Battle Lake, Steven (Bel) Dalum of Everett, Wash. and Scott Dalum of Hoffman; six grandchildren, Angela Graham, Lisa (Antony) Woodroffe, Stacey (Jeff) Lovell, Kim (Jason) Johnson, Jason Dalum and Ayla Mathre; nine great-grandchildren, Lacey, Dustin, and Cody Ernst, Anna and Michael Woodroffe, Mason Lovell, Mareena, Brenna and Daniel Underhill; and by two great-great grandchildren, Jace Krath and Emmah Anderson; sister, Evelyn (Bruce) Harstad of Alexandria; brother, Wally (Ramona) Rossum of Boise, Idaho; two sisters-in-law, June Rossum of Evansville and Hulda Rossum of Brandon and by numerous relatives and friends. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Dalum in 1976; six brothers, Earl, Floyd, Max, Roger, Curtiss and Charles; and by three sisters, Alice Rossum, Bernice James and Margaret Rossum.
