Cecelia Haugen

Cecelia L. Haugen, 77, of Fergus Falls, MN died Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Midwest Home Health in Fergus Falls.




She was born December 24, 1933 in Grand Forks, ND to Carl and Mary "Mamie" (Riley) Haugen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks. She graduated from Grand Forks High School in 1953. After graduation, Cecelia moved to San Francisco, CA and lived there until 1955 when she returned to Grand Forks briefly and then moved to Fargo. She was united in marriage to Harry Lee Kamletz on June 13, 1959 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Fargo, ND. They were later divorced. Cecelia mainly worked in retail sales but also cared for foster children in Moorhead, MN. In the early 2000's, she moved to Fergus Falls, MN where she was active at the Senior Citizens Center and volunteering with the Salvation Army. She also enjoyed craftwork and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with and visiting with people and was the happiest while helping others.




Cecelia is survived by her sister, Marilyn (Don) Hensrud of Bemidji, MN; nieces and nephews: Cathy (Bruce) Toby of Bemidji, MN, Greg (Roz) Hensrud of Maplewood, MN, Gregg Hanson of Bemidji, MN and Robert (Anita) Hensrud of Bemidji, MN; cousins: Phyllis and Donald Loder of Cooperstown, ND, Mark and Myra of International Falls, MN, Roy of East Grand Forks, MN, Paul and Debbie of Hallock, MN; a foster daughter, DeeDee of Fargo, ND; and ??? good friends: Carol Terch of Fergus Falls, MN, Margaret Wambach and Medrean Warner of Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Nancy Hanson.




Memorial Service will be held sometime in the spring.
