Bruce Puchalski

October 27, 1971 — November 2, 2013

Bruce Puchalski, 42, of Evansville, died Saturday, November 2, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN.

Bruce Charles Puchalski was born October 27, 1971 in Elbow Lake, Minnesota, the son of Charles and Sue (Jensen) Puchalski. He graduated from
West Central Area High School, Barrett, MN, in 1990. Following graduation, Bruce worked for Lunda Construction in the Twin Cities during the summer of 1990 before moving to Washington with his cousin Eric, where he worked at a Horse Farm until the spring of 1991. Upon returning to Minnesota,
Bruce worked at the Barrett elevator. He also worked for a time at Fechtner Trailer in Elbow Lake.

Bruce met Shannon Behrens, as he would tell people, that in July of 1991 "she just appeared on my doorstep and never left." They were married on October 2, 1993 at St. Petri Lutheran Church, rural Brandon. Bruce and Shannon were blessed with two children: Kyle, on October 19, 1999 and Samantha, on
May 22, 2007.

In September of 1995, Bruce moved his family to Jim Falls, Wisconsin, where Bruce and his father started Jim Falls Building and Construction. Bruce went on to work for Wayne Hanson Builders, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, from 2002
until May 2011, at which time the family returned to Evansville to be closer to family and friends. Bruce worked for Hoffman Building Systems, Hoffman, MN, until July of 2013.

Bruce's first love was horses. A true outdoorsman, Bruce loved spending many weekends horseback riding with his family and friends, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, bow, rifle and black powder hunting. Bruce was a "jack-of-all-trades" and was well known for his ability to fix anything. As a carpenter, Bruce could be described as a true innovator, and most recently had remodeled his home, along with
Shannon.

Even more important than his skill and hobbies was the time spent with
family and friends camping on Lake Ina near Melby. Bruce was extremely social and would go out of his way to talk with people. Bruce will be remembered for his kindness and his "redneck" tool creations.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Shannon of Evansville; children, Kyle and Samantha, both at home; sister, Jodi (Kerby) Strickler of Starbuck, MN;
father, Charles (Maureen) Puchalski of Cadott, Wisconsin; three half-siblings: Heather (Jamie) Gubrud, Crystal Butler, Dustin Puchalski and step-brother James Butler, all of Wisconsin; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sue; and by grandparents,
Oscar (Bernice) Jensen and Hugo (Dora) Puchalski.
