Bernard Nordick

Bernard Nordick, 86, of Fergus Falls, formerly of Battle Lake, died Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Bernard Charles Nordick was born April 3, 1926 in Wilkin County, the son of Henry and Mary (Thuente) Nordick. He was baptized and confirmed at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kent, MN. He also attended school in Kent.

On October 9, 1950, he married Rosella Beyer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brushvale, MN.

Bernard farmed in Andrea Township until 1974. He then worked at the MinnDak Farmers Co-op until moving to Battle Lake in 1980. He then drove milk truck and school bus until his retirement in 1996.

Bernard enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. Bernard loved spending time with his fourteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was proud of being a member of the Battle Lake Lions Club for 33 years and having perfect attendance, until he became ill in June. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Foresters. Bernard and Rosella enjoyed spending twelve seasons at the Handkes Mobile Park in McAllen, TX.

He is survived by his wife, Rosella of Fergus Falls; six children: Robert (Kathy) of Fergus Falls, Thomas (Tammy) of Pelican Rapids, Dave of Wahpeton, Timothy of Underwood, Kevin (Emily) of Jordan, MN, and Dale (Ginger) of Henning; grandchildren: Robert Jr., Allen, Shawn, Kendra Binger, Tyrell, Chancy, Sierra, Wade, Ashley, Leah, Brandon, Courtney, Kaitlin, and Grace; great-granddaughter, Lindy; brother, Mark "Whitey" (Donna) of Breckenridge; and a sister, Rose Rothmeyer of Calmer, Iowa.

Preceding him in death were his daughter, Diana; daughter-in-law, Janel; brothers, Laurence, Rudy, Aloysius, Father Benedict, Brother Dunstan; and sister, Anne Conzemius.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 AM Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls.

Visitation: 5 – 7 PM Wednesday, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:15 PM and a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home Fergus Falls. Visitation continues one hour prior to services at the church.

Clergy: Father Greg Paffel, Father Jerry Nordick and Deacon Chuck Kampa

Interment: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery, Battle Lake
