Alta Holtberg

Alta Holtberg, 82 formerly of Ashby, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at Golden Living Center , Olivia , MN .

Alta Natalie Holtberg was born July 21, 1927 the daughter of Anton and Alta C. (Halquist) Holtberg of Ashby, MN. Alta was baptized and confirmed at Pelican Lake Lutheran Church of Ashby. She graduated from Ashby High School in 1945. Alta furthered her education graduating from St. Cloud State College in 1950. Alta taught high school English in Virginia , Little Fork, Brooten and Evansville .

In 1964 she married Warren Klitzke in Glenwood. They made their home in Virginia until their divorce in 1967. Alta spent most of her adult life in the Alexandria/Glenwood area. She enjoyed reading, music and gardening.

Alta is survived by her brother Robert Holtberg of Alexandria ; nieces Toni (Rick) Tvrdik, Alison (Jeff) Rodel; nephew Bryan (Lynette) Holtberg all of Alexandria .

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Charline Holtberg.
