Alpha Johnson, 93 of Fergus Falls died Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Alpha Josephine Johnson was born on October 13, 1923, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota the daughter of Clarence and Julia (Moxness) Hoff. She was baptized and confirmed in the Aastad Lutheran Church. Alpha attended Country School District #118 in Aastad Township and graduated from the Fergus Falls High School in 1942.
Alpha and Chester Johnson were married on September 22, 1943, in the Aastad Lutheran Church. After their marriage they farmed in Aastad Township and in 1971, they moved into their home in Fergus Falls. She was a homemaker raising her family and had been employed with Lake Park Wild Rice Children's Home, was with Amway and did a lot of seamstress work out of her home. Alpha enjoyed sewing, music, her annual Christmas party, family time and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She was a member of Aastad Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid, Homemakers and the Sons of Norway.
She is survived by eight children, Daryl (Marlys) Johnson of Fergus Falls, David (Judy) Johnson of Battle Lake, Nancy Anderson of Savage, Jennifer (Tyler) Erickson of Trinidad, CO, Duane (Janna) Johnson of Savage, Dennis (Cindy) Johnson, Darwin (Diane) Johnson and Dean Johnson all of Fergus Falls; twenty grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren; and by numerous relatives and friends. Alpha was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Julia Hoff; husband, Chester on September 29, 1995; son, Robert Brent Johnson; daughter, Melissa Jo Johnson; brother, Carlet Hoff and sister, Corinne Fronning.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, December 2, 2016, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls.
Visitation: Friday from 9 AM until the time service.
