Adeline Woldahl

Adeline Woldahl, 93, of Fergus Falls, formerly rural Ashby, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.

She was born April 21, 1918 in Eagle Lake Township of Otter Tail County to Helmer and Anna (Farden) Lundeen. She grew up in Eagle Lake Township and received her schooling at District #6. She worked for neighbors and relatives as a hired girl. On July 22, 1938, she was united in marriage to Erwin Woldahl at the parsonage in Battle Lake. The couple made their home in Eagle Lake Township on their farm on Jolly Ann Lake. They farmed until the mid 1980's before retiring and continued to reside on their farm. Erwin passed away on November 17, 1994. Adeline continued to reside on the farm until 2006 when she moved into the Broen Memorial Home.

Adeline enjoyed making rugs on the loom that Erwin built for her. She loved vegetable gardening, fishing, flower gardening – especially African violets, raising chickens and selling eggs to local neighbors and the Farmer's Produce in Ashby, listening to music and attending church services after moving to the Broen Home. She raised large patches of cucumbers for Gedney Pickle Co. in Evansville and she was noted for her baking.

She is survived by her children: James Woldahl of Hawaii, LuAnne (Larry) Pikala of Fergus Falls, Karen (Doug) Dahlen of Fergus Falls and Gene (Char) Woldahl of Ashby; four grandchildren: Julie (Ernie) Sanchez, Angie (Matt) Lien, Cody Dahlen and Brittany Dahlen; four great-grandchildren: Taylor Pikala, Hayden Sanchez, Madison Lien and Brady Lien; four step-grandchildren: Matt Heller, Amanda Heller, Jody (Jeff) Bratcher and Becky (Don) Rocholl and one sister, Louise Kintzer of Des Moines, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Marion Stine, one brother, Kenneth Lundeen and a grandson, Justin Woldahl.

Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Ashby and resuming for one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: Thursday at 2 PM at Grue Lutheran Church in rural Ashby

Burial: Grue Lutheran Cemetery – rural Ashby
